One enterprising individual Robert Thatham recognised the opportunity offered by the ‘Hipping’ stones across Broken Beck and established a Smithy serving those who used the road. Who knows, maybe they even provided sustenance and accommodation to those wanting to break up their journey. In the early 17th century the then owner of the Hall, Edward Tatham married the daughter of a local lawyer from Dentdale and instantly elevated his position in society, building the Hall as we see it today and creating a legacy in the process.
To mark this enterprising family, we have created a luxurious suite in the loft spaces of Hipping’s roof space. Spacious, calm and totally uncluttered, this most luxurious of rooms is a haven of indulgence and relaxation. Featuring a guest lounge, a beautiful appointed bedroom with stunning original oak ships beams and views over the gardens, an ensuite bathroom complete with free standing stone resin bath and walk in deluge shower. This truly is the ultimate luxury retreat, perfect for unwinding and spending time together.
