Hipping Hall Launches Gastro Getaway

Our head chef Oli Martin has teamed up with several local food heroes to create a very special gastronomic experience for lovers of creative cookery, amazing produce and world-class wines…

We all have a desire to understand the provenance of our food. Marry this with the wish to understand how our food is made – and the demand for freshness and provenance – it’s no surprise that artisan producers are on the up…

To that end we have chosen to create a very special tour, which will create an opportunity to experience the very best artisan-produced food, expertly matched with the finest natural wines from small producers. And, the icing on the cake is the setting; in some of the UK’s most breath-taking scenery in the Yorkshire Dales.

Hipping Hall’s luxuriously appointed Stables will play host to this intimate two-night gourmet getaway between 17 – 19 October. During their stay at Hipping Hall guests will stay in one of five luxuriously appointed rooms overlooking glorious gardens, ponds and streams. In addition, guests will have access to their own private dining room, bar and lounge with open fire, and for the duration of their stay guests will also be looked after by their own waiting staff and chef… making for the perfect foodie bolt hole….

Locally produced (and foraged) ingredients will be at the heart of chef Oli Martin’s specially created menus on both evenings, each beautifully complemented by a flight of natural wines, selected and presented by experienced natural wine merchant Rob Bagot, of Buon Vino, near Settle.

Excursions to visit charcutier Chris Wildman and cheese refiner Andy Swinscoe will feature as part of this journey of discovery.

Guests will visit Chris, at his base in beautiful Malhamdale, will talk about butchery, salumi and charcuterie – and of course his famous Yorkshire Chorizo…

And Andy, from the multi award-winning Courtyard Dairy, near Settle, will share his passion for small independent and artisan cheese makers from across Britain… with plenty of opportunity to taste the fruits of their labours along the way…
