Pottery Masterclass in the Yorkshire Dales
Join us for a pottery masterclass led by two of the North of England’s leading ceramicists Martin and Siobhan Miles-Moore.
It doesn’t matter how much potting experience you have – total beginner or happy hobby potter Martin and Siobhan have heaps of experience and will be on hand to offer one to one guidance throughout.
There are just ten places on the ceramics course, which means you get plenty of opportunity to learn under the supportive gaze of your experienced tutors.
The course is structured to encourage everyone to think about their surroundings and to use their senses to help them create unique pieces of work during their day in this beautiful part of the world.
Each student potter will get one to one tuition using the wheel to create at least one piece, as well as having the opportunity to hand build pieces too. During their stay students, will have the opportunity to explore and use, a variety of techniques including throwing, hand building, sgraffito, glazing and raku.
During the course, each student will:
• throw at least one bowl
• decorate and fire a Raku vase
• make and decorate tiles / coasters / canapé trays
Tuition starts commences at 9.30am, there’s a splendid four-course lunch, followed by further tuition until 5.30pm.
You day includes a full day’s course tuition, lunch and all refreshments during the day for only £95.
