Charcoal Masterclass
Join us for a charcoal masterclass led by one of the leading charcoal artist Sandra Orme.
Sandra is an award-winning artist who has exhibited with The Pastel Society at The Mall Galleries in London and teaches annually for The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. She is renowned for her dramatic skies over land and sea.
‘From Darkness into the Light’ is one-day course in creating stunning skies over dramatic landscapes. Charcoal is often much underrated as a sketching material. Sandra has developed innovative ways of working with charcoal on two specialist pastel papers to create finished dramatic pieces.
Spend an exciting day exploring new ways of working with this ancient material… Experiment with these techniques using both wet and dry effects to create expressive artworks.
At each stage she will demonstrate and explain the process – followed by one-to-one tuition that will ensure you are able to develop your own work and achieve some great results. You can expect to produce at least three pieces of work and leave armed with the knowledge that will enable you to continue your work in this evocative medium.
There are just ten places on the course to ensure you enjoy the full benefit of her expert instruction. Sandra will help you create up to 3 unique pieces of work that explore the skies and landscape of this beautiful place.
