Established in 2009, Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery now produces a range of beers that are served throughout across the UK. It all began with ‘Ruskin’s’, named after Turner’s famous painting ‘Ruskin’s View’, created in 1816, a fitting homage in every sense to this beautiful scene. Ever since, the brewery has sought local inspiration for the names of their beers.

After a bracing walk alongside the River Lune taking in Devil’s Bridge and the steep climb up the Radical Steps to Ruskin’s View, what could be better than a refreshing pint in pleasant surroundings, before returning to Hipping Hall and enjoying dinner crafted by head chef Oli Martin?
