We still have a couple of rooms available for our three night Christmas package starting on the 24th of December.

Arriving on Christmas Eve, we'll start off the celebrations with an afternoon tea complete with mince pies and mulled wine. Dinner that night will be a splendid seven course tasting menu starting in the lounge with Champagne and Canapes. We serve the dinner as one sitting so expect a great atmosphere and plenty of seasonal cheer.
After a restful night's sleep and a leisurely breakfast we'll serve Christmas Lunch in our magnificent but cosy 15th Century dining room with real log fire. There's no pressure to have fun but lots of time to relax. Read your new book in our comfortable lounge for the rest of the day, or perhaps take a stroll over the field to Leck Church with its Bronte connections. Dinner on Christmas day will be an informal and comforting fish pie.

Boxing day is a day of leisure, so take some time to explore our beautiful area. If the weather is half as good as it has been for the last two years then you'll be in for a treat. Dinner on Boxing day is from our a la carte or if anyone's hungry we'll have another tasting menu available ...
Prices start from £1280 per room for the three nights, including all food and lodging.

The first wine that ever really caught my imagination was an Amarone from Allegrini. It showed me that a glass of wine could be more just a drink, it could be a multi layered journey through the senses.
So, on a recent visit to Lake Garda I jumped at their invitation to visit the vineyards high above the small town of Fumane. To learn the ethos behind the winery and the personality behind each of their individual wines by the people that grow the grapes and make the wines was a real treat.

The highlight of the trip was being shown their new head-quarters, the breathtaking Pallazo della Torre. The Pallazo also doubles as a magnificent tasting venue and we were shown their full range of wines.
The crisp and crunchy Valpollicella was full of verve and refreshing acidity. The single vineyard La Grola grown in one of the most prestigious vineyards in Valpollicella was generous, full-bodied and intense.
The Amarone had bags of power and weight but was as elegant and refined as you would expect from this modern, forward thinking house. I would just like to thank the Allegrini family so much for their kind hospitality and Stephanie for being so generous with her time.
